Resident Evil 4 was already well known by the time it was ported to the Wii at the end of May 2007. RE4 has been regarded as the “pinnacle of its existence”, and one of the best games of its generation. You play as Leon Kennedy, and your mission is to rescue the President’s daughter from a group of terrorists. As it turns out, the group is a cult known as the “Los Illuminados” and your mission becomes more complex than you originally imagined. [Read More] |

While every game has been revolutionary enough to stand out on its own, the entire MGS saga is a land breaking endeavor in cinematic gaming. Keeping in tradition with the other games, MGS4 goes out of its way to build upon the previous games in every respect possible. This breath-taking sendoff of the Metal Gear Solid saga is not only the finest entry of the series, but one of the finest games I've ever played. [Read More] |

With the last map pack release, I did a video walkthrough/review similar to one I just released for the Snowblind Map Pack. On the one for the combustible map pack review, I noticed a lot of people saying the map pack wasn't worth it, that the halo maps were better for the price. Well unlike the last map pack, this one releases three new maps, and a remake of the fan-favorite Fuel Depot from Gears of War 1. [Read More] |

Pumpkinhead is a campy 1988 horror movie starring Lance Henriksen. A group of pissant teenagers go on a vacation and accidentally kill Henriksen's only son. This pisses off Henriksen in such a profound manner that he hikes his ass through the woods in search of an old witch named Haggis. She hooks him up with some satanic spells and conjours up a demon known locally as "Pumpkinhead." [Read More] |

The book shows the characters in Gears of War in a different way that the original doesn't, except for Baird who is still an asshole. After reading the book, you'll look at Marcus, Dom, Hoffman, Cole, Anya, and others in an entirely new light. Instead of just big hulking warmachines, you'll see the characteristics and humanity in each of them. The events in Gears of War(especially) and Gears of War 2 will make much more sense after reading. [Read More] |

Guitar Hero: World Tour is Activision's first attempt at producing a full-band game, adding both drums and vocals to the traditional guitar/bass franchise. World Tour features the largest setlist of any Guitar Hero or Rock Band game, topping out at 86 songs. While the game initially looks far more polished than its predecessors, its shortcomings soon shine through. [Read More] |

Visually, the 360 version is by far the best. The aliasing found in previous versions is gone, and the game plays in a higher resolution this time around. The sound and music is, as far as I can tell, unchanged. Although I've only really put an hour or two into it this time around, I have noticed a few small differences in gameplay. I'm almost certain that the color order of Shigi (the level 3 miniboss)'s orbital laser things have been switched around, which led to a few 'wtf' deaths. [Read More] |

In 2002, Nintendo introduced their cute, charming version of The Sims (aside from the house fires and having your kids taken away from you because you didn't build a bathroom in your house). Its name? Animal Crossing. The plot is that your character, looking a mature 10 years old, leaves home to live in a town full of cuddly animal neighbors. There's no clear objective; you want to pay off your house so you can have the biggest house possible, collect every variety of fish and insects, complete your town's museum, etc. [Read More] |

You assume the role of Commander Shepard, a human captain of the supership Normandy. Early on, you discover a SPECTRE (think this Galaxy's INTERPOL) named Saren has gone rogue and it's up to you to track him down. In classic BioWare style, you beginning hopping to planet to planet chasing him down while he remains one step ahead of you. It all culminates in what I consider one of the best climaxes I've ever experienced in a video game. [Read More] |

When the game was announced, and through the marketing of the game before it was released, the game was touted as the ultimate co-op party game for the Xbox live arcade. They promised that the game was built around you and your three friends to play through the storyline together; however, for most people, you will quickly find out that the online is basically unplayable. The network components of the game are god-awful, and you’ll be lucky the game doesn’t boot your ass out before the game even loads. [Read More] |

Gears of War 2 is vastly improved over its predecessor in many ways. The story in Gears 2 takes place six months after the events in the original Gears. Though most of the Locust horde was destroyed with the explosion of the lightmass bomb, the bomb also caused a great deal of the immulsion underground to vaporize, causing a fatal disease called “rust lung” that is affecting humans that breathe in the harmful vapors. With Travis covering the campaign of Gears 2, I'll touch for a bit on the multiplayer. Epic admitted that the multiplayer in the first Gears was a last minute addition and that it wasn't tuned very well. While they didnt' seem super confident in the product, Gears 1 was a very popular game online. With a full development cycle, Gears 2 is poised to be one of the finer multiplayer experiences on the 360. [Read More] |

When it was first unveiled, Mirror's Edge instantly caught my attention. Especially since coming off a unique first-person experience with Portal, my expectation for DICE's inventive platformer were high. While the game certainly impresses in some aspects, I find a few key fundamentals incredibly flawed. [Read More] |

In the 90s, games such as Age of Empires and Starcraft paved the way for future real time strategy games, and brought popularity and acknowledgement to the genre. In 2003, Microsoft developed Rise of Nations for the PC. Rise of Nations, and its expansion, allowed the player to control one of the 24 real-life-based nations through the cavemen era to present day. There are no restrictions to this part of the game. Left 4 Dead is the latest shooter coming from superstar dev Valve. Rather than sticking with the linear story-centric Half Life model, this game ops for very, very little story and quick campaigns. This game is all about one thing: survival. Every campaign is comprised of the same 4 survivors trying to slay their way through hordes of zombies to one main extraction point. [Read More] |

After about 10 years since Mega Man 8, Capcom finally released a true Mega Man game. None of this chicken shit "Battle Network" stuff, just a hardcore 8-bit nut stomping of yore. To compound this nostalgic masterpiece, Capcom kept with the true Nintendo aesthetic and made the game almost identical to the real classics. While it's truly a massive achievement in fan service, you'll probably end up remembering this game for its frustration factor. [Read More] |
