i think you should do a lower weight .. then you can do more reps since umm.. doing 1 rep at 275 etc... can injure you.. but w.e im just a stupid chick.

besides high reps are for sissy bodybuilders
 
personally i think its better to do more reps then strain from only doing one-two..
but im light weight i guess.

of course i am vastly oversimplifying it but bodybuilders do higher reps of lower weight, and powerlifters do lower reps of higher weight

the stress caused by a one rep max isnt going to give you any adverse affects as long as you're doing the exercise properly which is always the most important ever
